Church By-Laws

The by-laws of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church establish the governance structure, membership requirements, and operational guidelines that guide our congregation. These by-laws ensure that our church operates in accordance with Baptist traditions and scriptural principles.

Church History

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church has a rich heritage of faith, service, and community engagement in Summerville, South Carolina. For generations, our congregation has been committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and serving those in need in our community.

CURRENT PASTOR

Dr. Travis Holmes

Dr. Travis Holmes serves as the Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Under his leadership, the church continues to grow in faith, fellowship, and community outreach. Pastor Holmes is dedicated to teaching the Word of God and leading the congregation in service to Jesus Christ.

His vision for Mt. Zion emphasizes unity, spiritual growth, and active engagement in spreading the gospel throughout the community and beyond.

Reverend Leon Salley

Reverend Leon Salley served faithfully as pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church for many years.

His dedication to the congregation and commitment to the gospel laid a strong foundation for the church's continued growth and ministry.

Praise & Worship Team

Our Praise and Worship Team leads the congregation in uplifting worship experiences, using music to glorify God and prepare hearts for the Word.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Choir

The church choir ministers through song, bringing traditional and contemporary gospel music to our worship services and special events.

Usher Ministry

Our ushers serve as the welcoming face of Mt. Zion, ensuring that all visitors and members feel at home in our sanctuary.

Sunday School Department

Classes for all ages:

Adult Class - In-depth Bible study for adults

Beginners and Middle School Class - Age-appropriate instruction for younger members

Empowering U

Ministry

A community physical fitness program designed to promote health and wellness while building fellowship. Classes are held Monday through Wednesday, 4PM-6PM.

The Chess Ministry teaches strategic thinking and decision-making skills to youth through the game of chess, emphasizing the importance of making wise choices in life.

Kitchen Ministry &

Our Kitchen Ministry serves meals for church events and supports the Food Pantry, which provides food assistance to families in need throughout our community.
