About Dr. Travis S. Holmes
Dr. Travis S. Holmes is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. He is the youngest of three siblings and the proud son of Missionary Rosa Ella Holmes and the late Franklyn Holmes.
Dr. Holmes is the father of three children: Tylah (married to David), Denzel, and Zynia. He is also the proud grandfather of four grandchildren.

Dr. Holmes was educated in the public school system of Charleston, South Carolina, and graduated from Stratford High School in 1993. He continued his education at Morris College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Administration on May 15, 1999.
He further pursued theological education at Christian Life School of Theology, where he earned a Bachelor of Theology in 2001, a Master of Theology in 2004, and a Master of Divinity in 2007. Dr. Holmes also earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from South University and completed additional studies at Webster University and Argosy University.
In March 2009, he received a Doctor of Divinity degree from St. Luke Evangelical School of Biblical Studies. Most recently, in 2024, he received a Grant Writing Certificate from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Holmes has a deep passion for pastoring God’s people. He currently serves as the Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina. He has been pastoring for more than 25 years and preaching the Gospel for over 32 years.
​
In addition to pastoring his congregation, Dr. Holmes is actively involved in numerous community initiatives. He serves as a counselor, volunteer chaplain, author, and consultant for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Much of his time is dedicated to helping others grow, succeed, and become the best versions of themselves.
